5) University of Hong Kong (HKU)

Back in 1911, a British governor established this institute so English language was mainly used for its courses. In 1927, the university began incorporating Chinese culture and education into its courses.

In the same year, it offered its first degree in Chinese. However, primary language used is still English. The university is ranked as one of the most international universities by Times Higher Education. Students who graduated from HKU are also ranked highly when it comes to employability.

The university’s admissions process is challenging because, for its undergraduate courses, it selects only one out of 31 local students and 12 international students. Therefore, it is highly competitive. Make sure you are mentally prepared!

Conclusion

Compared to countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, Asia has remained undervalued as a study destination for international students.

This has recently changed, with more international students choosing to study in Asian countries that lay the foundation for many of the world’s top universities. Multiculturalism, diverse cultures and traditions, and unique educational systems are some of the most appealing aspects of Asian nations.

Furthermore, Asian countries provide high-quality education at relatively low costs, resulting in a large student influx on the continent.

Finding the perfect university for yourself is a long process and requires a lot of thought and time to make the best decision. Similarly finding the right student accommodation as a student moving abroad to pursue further education is also a task that can make you feel slightly overwhelmed.
