Everyone gets burnt out if they study for too long. Break up your study periods into smaller, more manageable sessions instead. This will help you the regain the energy that your mind needs to make the study session a success. It will also help you to retain the information better as well.
You should also have certain goals that you are looking to meet when you are studying. Goals can help you to keep your focus and to know if you are progressing as you should. You should never just sit down to study without a plan. Make sure that you are clear as to what you are trying to accomplish.
Tip #2 – Plan your Study Times
Having a dedicated time that you plan to study can be very beneficial as well. Remember, this can also be the time that you spend doing your homework, having private tuition, or completing an assignment as well. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the time your spend preparing for a test. All forms of studying are important and they all help you to remember important things that will be crucial to your success in your class.
You should also be consistent with the times that you decide to study. Keep them the same from one day to the next. This will help prevent you from finding better things to do during your designated study schedule.
Tip #3 – Study the Hard Stuff First
Difficult assignments or subjects will require the most effort and you should focus on them first. They will make more sense when your mind is fully awake and you have not spent time studying on anything else yet.
You should also begin your study session by reviewing the notes that you take in class. (Yes, you should take notes.) Going back over what your teacher told you can be helpful when you are studying something that is confusing.
Tip #4 – Turn off the Phone
Your friends are a big part of your life, but when it is time to study, you need to focus. Help yourself to stay focused by telling your friends not to call, text, or send you a send you funny Facebook messages during your study time.
If you prefer not informing your friends of your study habits, you can make it simply by turning off your phone until after you have finished studying. Whatever is going on with your friend can wait until you are finished.
Tip #5 – Use the Weekend to Review
