Through Smile Tutor (superb, professional, highly recommended forum) we needed an IB trained math tutor. So, we were put in touch with Dominic Lim. Our son had always struggled with math & we could see no progress at school year after year. In Year 10 we decided a tutor was imperative to achieve any academic success. On our son’s first assessment with Dominic, it was determined that he actually had no basic, fundamental understanding of math to begin with. Once this was ascertained, his wonderful journey with math & tutor began and with each session we could see the progress made & slowly we saw the results, as did his teachers from 20% in tests to 80-90% within months and these results have been maintained. This brought such peace of mind to us that our son was in dedicated hands and his confidence has grown dramatically along with a new love for math (& his tutoring sessions) and his belief in himself; vital, moving forward, to the more challenging years ahead.
The effort paid off and the best testament to this was our son receiving the Math Prize for his Year. Math is now one of his strengths and favourite subjects at school.
We cannot thank Dominic Lim enough & would so highly recommend him to any parent seeking tuition. Whilst his genuine passion is clear, the objective was to keep a teen engaged, interested & motivated which he has achieved effortlessly with our son.
