Hey friends! This is Rum, the founder of SMILETutor. I would like to thank all of you for your support and usage of our services. In return, we decided to create a blog that would serve to entertain, educate, and engage our site visitors.
In the following days and weeks, we will be brainstorming ideas on what to write so we can best add value to readers like you, ranging from how-to’s, guides, informational articles to exciting stories. As such, we really hope that you can contribute and help us make this a better blog by suggesting your ideas to us. We may also accept your guest posts if we think it is valuable to our readers! Here is our contact email: [email protected]
As this is an introductory post, we think it is befitting to write a post about SmileTutor so our new readers will have a better idea of who we are! Are you ready? First, watch our brand video!
So who are we, and why was SmileTutor built? We created our tuition agency to help two main groups of people, and you probably belong to one of these groups! Read on to find out more!
Right! The first group are what we like to call our “clients”. They are basically students in need of home tutors for home tuition, to get additional help in their studies! In today’s world, education is getting more and more competitive, and having private tuition in Singapore is becoming a norm! Heck, you’d likely be at a huge disadvantage without one-to-one help when your peers are getting all that help! There’s a lot a home tutor can do for a student in need! But we’ll cover that another day.
Sure, there are other tuition agencies around, how does SmileTutor Tuition Agency add value? I’m sure you’ve heard all sorts of horror stories about how unethical or unprofessional some tuition agencies are? The truth is, the tuition industry is loosely regulated. Considering that you are spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month for home tuition, and your child’s future is at stake, do you want to risk hiring a bad, unqualified, unprofessional tutor?
Having been exposed to the bad practices of many other tuition agencies, our founders decided to create our own tuition agency that can serve to be a reliable and trustworthy option for parents and students.
Parents and Students
1) Integrity is our number one priority. We always put our client’s interest first and will find the best tutor we can. If we are unable to do so, we do not try to force our way through. The fact is, many tuition agencies tend to be very profit-driven, resulting in many other such business lying to parents in order to get the deal.
2) Our motto is to be Efficient, Effective, and Easy. That is to be efficient in sourcing for tutors, effective in finding the most qualified and suitable tutor, and being easily accessible, contactable, and usable.
3) We aim to differentiate ourselves through Quality. Although we cannot fully control the quality of our tutors, we understand that the tutors we provide carry the name of our agency. Unlike other tuition coordinators who share, buy, or rent tutor databases, we maintain and use our very own exclusive database. Our policy is to only accept tutors who have a minimum grade of ‘A’ in their teaching subjects, only subject to a few exceptions based on our own discretions. We also phone interview our tutors and make sure only the best tutors are accepted.
With these 3 values, we believe that SmileTutor Tuition Agency will become the top provider of Home Tuition in Singapore. Parents can be at peace leaving their child’s education to the tutors we recommend.
Home Tutors
The second group we cater to are basically tuition teachers looking for tutoring jobs. Some of them are students, undergraduates, or working professionals tutoring part-time for extra income or as a hobby. The rest are doing private tutoring as a full-time career or are school teachers or tuition teachers at a tuition centre.
The truth is, there are more private tutors than there are tutees. Within the first 2 months, we already received over 200 tutor applications (we approved only 70). By having strict standards and requiring all our tutors to submit their NRIC, Certificates of grades, college degrees and portfolios, we only keep a small pool of active tutors in our database that is constantly updated.
These small, elite group of tutors will receive the bulk of assignments via daily SMS. We also post our assignments on our Facebook Page and Google+ Page.
We help them to earn extra income and find students, while they provide excellent home tutoring for our clients and keep them happy. Everyone wins!
Ahh, it’s already 2.35am, time for bed. We hope you enjoyed our introductory post and bookmark our blog on your browser! Also, we really appreciate a share using the cool plugin we added at the top and bottom of our blog posts!
We haven’t thought of what to write in our next post, but it will definitely be something exciting (and less lengthy) than this introductory post! Cheers and have a good night people!
Cheers
