The foolproof way of making your profile more attractive to clients is to improve your Quality Score™.
- Go out of your way to make lessons more engaging for the tutee.
- Commit to all your assignments.
- Submit all your relevant certificates and awards to SmileTutor for your profile.
After each assignment, politely ask the client to submit a positive review of you to SmileTutor. This would massively boost your Quality Score, ensuring that future clients are aware that you are recommended by your past clients.
Broaden your rates

Let’s say you currently only offer to teach Sec 1-4 English and Math, and you aren’t getting many assignments, consider opening to P1-6 English and Math too!
While the rates might be lower, the assignments you take up all contribute to your Quality Score and portfolio, which in turn improves your profile.

Sometimes, parents may request uncommon combinations of subjects, such as Sec 3 Biology and English, to be taught after 1 tutor. This would cause the assignment to be in limbo for a while.
If you are confident and qualified enough to teach a wide array of subjects, do not be scared to do so!
Not only does it allow you to have a wider spread of assignments to choose from, you would also be prioritised for uncommon subject combinations like the example above.

Students usually opt for weekend or after school tuition to accommodate for their busy weekday schedule.
If you are a part time tutor, try your best to keep your weekends morning to afternoon open, and your weekdays afternoons.
It would be a huge plus if you are available for nights, as you would be able to take consecutive assignments on the same day!
But do keep an eye on your schedule to ensure that there is ample time for you to travel between lessons.
