In order to do well, you need to plan, revise and prepare well in advance of your PSLE. You need a comprehensive approach that can prepare you in terms of knowledge, time and stress. We’ve reached out to our tutors and students asking about their recommended revision strategy

Build your subject knowledge and foundation

Start by going through your textbooks a few more times. You need to understand all basic concepts, formulae and keywords taught.

Without having a strong foundation for your subjects, every question will appear complicated, making it difficult for you to answer confidently even if you have practiced beforehand.

Gradually attempt more difficult questions

Once you are confident with all the basic subject knowledge, you should start doing practice questions with increasing difficulty. Don’t be afraid to refer to notes when practicing as it helps you remember better.

During this phase, you can use assessment books, past year test papers and websites for challenging questions to practice.

Do timed practices under uncomfortable exam conditions

Nearing your PSLE, approximately two months prior, you should start doing timed paper practices. Although you may have done these during school examinations, having timed practices multiple times a day continuously is more effective at conditioning you to make sure you can perform without making careless mistakes or feeling overwhelmed.
